Hey,
I recently backed up all my files i wanted to keep into Ace files. each of the 7 aces were about 648mb, and i burned each to a cd. but now after i've reinstalled windows, when i go to copy them back to my computer it copys a little more than half way and then it give me an error saying something like cannot copy (cyclic redundancy check). I was wondering if anyone knew of any other way i should be able to copy it to my hard drive with no errors, or basically what the error message means. plz help best you can.
thanks

does it occur with all the disks. if no its a problem with the individual disk, if yes its a problem with XP or the drive or the burning software.

you can try booting to dos using a win98 boot disk and copy them from a command prompt.

thats about all i can offer.

A CRC (cyclic redundancy error) usually means the disk is corrupt and can't be read properly.

What software are you using to burn? if you're using the built in XP burning software, I would recommend getting Nero or Easy CD.

Also, once your done burning the disc, check it on another computre first before wiping the drive and then discovering the discs are bad.
