Comment:

HI SQUAD,
I struggle with this kind of problem:
When computer idle, Copernic Desktop Search indexes the contents of the hard drives and after let's say 10 minutes of indexing, XP crashes and results in BSOD that reads as follows, except of usual knick-knack:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0x80D58318, 0x00000000, 0x804E8C7B, 0x00000000)

- when I disable Desktop Search Service from TaskManager, PC never crashes
- I used version 2.3 of Copernic, then uninstalled and PC never crashed
- later I installed version 3.0 of Copernic, it ran perfectly for about 5 days, then again started to crash when indexing

Many thanks for your help in advance, please don't persuade me to get rid of Copernic, I want to keep it and solve the problem..

Download and run memtest86 from a boot floppy or CD. No errors are acceptable.

Graphic card can also cause that error.

Run Disk Cleanup / Disk Defragmenter / chkdsk

Start>All Programs>Accessories>Systems Tools
(For the first 2 in that order)

Start>run>cmd
chkdsk /f restart your PC

Test your indexing again. If it doesn't work, run the Manf. Diagnostic software on the hard drive to ensure it is not going bad-

Also Memtest86 (mentioned above) is good for testing RAM

Thanks for any input.

Disk defragmented
chkdsk passed
Memtest86 passed twice with no errors

Still no help.-
