Hi i've had my laptop for a couple of months now My laptop is an Packard Bell Esynote R1004. I love the laptop but theres only aspect i dont like of it and that the noise the fan makes. I posted on the packard bell website forums and I then was told that this was the ventilater. I took it back to the shop and they checked if it was faulty, they then said its normal etc etc etc.

So am wondering what i can do? and i also realised that the laptop overheats but this is after quite a long period of hours on the laptop. And the bottom of the laptop on one side i.e. the left side where the Ventilator is gets very hot.

So i was thinking can someone can tell me if by buying a laptop cooler the vent will stop making the noise? because the vent is there to cool the laptop down right? but because of the laptop cooler the laptop wont heat up and the vent wont come on right? correct me if i am wrong.

And i want some advise on the best laptop cooler out there or equivilants, the ones that make the least noise and where to get them from.

Thank you very much! all responses will be appreciate

PS. I am from the uk so i cant buy from shops in the Usa lol.

emsee, strikes me that you find yourself caught in quite a quandry. What you need is a really high efficiency cooling fan that's QUIET. That's a hard criteria to meet. Efficient, high volume fans tend to be noisy. Wish I could suggest one. Surely others have run into the same thing and I'd suggest a few letters of inquiry to the major fan manufacturers. As for not being able to buy in the U.S., what about an online purchase?
