I think if I remember correctly when you install Win2K it will ask you what format you would like to use.

Partition Magic will convert your drive very easily. I just did a 40 gig HD in 5 minutes the other day with the OS installed on it (XP Pro) and other software with no problems.

i doubt win2k will let you use fat32. there is no file based security without NTFS.. not to mention NTFS is faster.

W2K supports both fat32 and ntfs. Simply isn't true that ntfs is faster than fat32. How a file system operates depends on average file size and cluster size of the file system.

You would be better suited to run NTFS. Now there is a bit of an issue with the version in XP having some bugs fixed that some 2000's can't read without being upgraded. Just install the 2000 like a clean boot install and USE NTFS. Then read up on the MS site if you want on how to convert it to the 5.1x ntfs.

The main reason why Ntfs is better because I don't have to run scandisk after a system crash or power loss on my disk drives. Especially when I have more 500gigs that has to be checked if I was using fat32.
