i appoligise if this in the wrong place, i am new. i am trying to convert tracks from an audio cd to an mp format so as to play in my mp3 player am i right in thinking that when i get an option in my recording software (make a mp3 disc) that it only makes discs from mp3 files and wont convert, i am currently using express rip which i downloaded but often the converted tracks jump.is there better software that ican buy or can xp do this. i also often find that tracks that i copy accross (unconverted) jump despite playing perfect from the disc. (sorry i dont know what an unconverted file is called) any info appreciated thank you

I use windows media player 10 (free to download as part of windows xp) and cyperlink mp3 converter plugin. It's pretty cheap and it lets you burn cd tracks straight to mp3 instead of the native wma files.

CDex is an excellent audio file convertor, and will convert cd to mp3, wav to mp3, and mp3 to wav also, plus lot's more besides. It's free, open-source and is available to download at http://cdexos.sourceforge.net Good luck.

all of those links go to the same file, a 'mirror' is exactly what it sounds like: a reflection of the same file on other servers.
