my question how to format hard disk in Fat32 mode or is there any option in winxp that can change the hard disk from NTFS to FAT.

Thanks

Nothing in XP to convert back.

How to Use the Fdisk Tool and the Format Tool to Partition or Repartition a Hard Disk

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;255867&
-------------------
Simplified version of the above:
How to Format:
Use a 95 or 98 start up disk
Boot to A: Fdisk
Delete Partition or logical drive
Delete primary DOS partition if fat16 or fat32
Delete Non DOS if NTFS
Next
Create DOS partition
Create primary DOS partition
Do you wish to use max size?_______Y
Reboot to A: format C:
You have FAT32
If you want NTFS you can convert later.

I just reboot the computer using win98 start up disk, then partioned the hard disk using fdisk, then rebooted the computer from winxp cd. I chosed the option that let winxp format the hard disk in NTFS mode.

now do not know what to do to reformating the hard disk.

thanks

You have to use fdisk and delete the NON Dos partition. Works well. I have deleted NTFS partions like that regularly. After deleting the part, use fdisk to set up the new partition and make it active. After that you can format the drive with the format command from the Win98 disk (FAT32) or use the WinXP disk to format NTFS.

Good luck
