Comment:

I have the upgrade version(from Win 98) of Xp Home on my Gx110. I am going to clone the hard drive to a bigger Seagate drive using Discwizard. My question is: If I use the convert utility to covert the fat32 to ntfs (C:\> CONVERT C: /fs:ntfs)
is there any drawbacks? Will it work since it is an upgrade from Win 98?

Thanks for any advice in advance!

You can't type that at the C prompt. You'll need to change to another drive letter to run the conversion. Should work okay. Just make sure that your computer MOBO can handle the larger drive.

Did you convert the original file system to NTFS before running the clone software?

No. What I think I will do is go ahead and clone the hard drive then convert it to ntfs using the command prompt. That way I'll have a back up if anything goes wrong.

Change is done. Zone Alarm started blocking Internet Explorer, all incoming and outgoing connections. I uninstalled it and am trying to reinstall but says something about an msi patch. If I can't fix it I will probably go back to the fat32. thanks for everyones input!

Zone Alarm not working properly doesn't have anything to do with the file system. If you were able to successfully uninstall it, I'd highly recommend NOT reinstalling.
