Continuous reboot loop XP

The computer was shut down by the Blaster virus during a download of SP1. Now it is in a reboot loop - blue screen, XP startup screen, back to blue screen, etc. The computer is an HP with the recovery files in a hidden partition - no recovery CDs. F10 doesn't work. I can't start in safe mode or any other option. I downloaded a set of XP boot disks and can get a DOS prompt. Is there any way to reach the hidden partition and start a reinstall?
