I have a hard drive w/ XP on it. It will get as far as showiny the XP logo, then reboot. If I take the hard drive out and put it in another computer as a slave drive, it causes the other computer to do the same thing. I did this so I could run a virus scan on it. I made sure I wasn't booting to this hard drive in the second computer.
I tried the recovery console, but get a BSOD with PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA message.

I tried that MS link before asking for help, but as mentioned in the initial post...I am umable to run the recovery console due to the BSOD. I am also unable to get any computer to boot with that hard drive in it, either slave or master, so I could replace the kernel32.dll file. Are there any other suggestions to get that file replaced.
