To the experienced users: I am hesitating between the two aforementioned virtual machines. Which one to install? Which one is better (meaning more stable, with more features, user-fiendly, etc.).
Thanks everyone for their comments.

Tried them both. VMWare seemed faster, but Connectix Virtual PC was more user friendly. Both require lots of RAM to work well. I only have 192MB RAM, so I really didn't have a fair chance to evaluate them. Mostly just used them to test install various Linux distributions. It's really hard to tell what the future of Virtual PC is going to be since Microsoft bought it out, but I'm sure they recognized it was a good product. VMWare has a free 30 day trial:

Microsoft has a 45 day trial:

That's really the best way to decide which is for you. They can both be installed at the same time with no problems.

Thanks. I think I'll try both since they can be installed at the same time.

Cheers,
