This problem just happened a few days ago when I tried installing something off the internet, and I need some desperate help since I ran out of options.
First of all, before I tried installing the software, I scanned it with Norton Antivirus and finding no viruses contained within it, I installed it on my HDD. No sooner had I done so, I discovered some that it contained some spyware, and by using spybot, I was able to remove all but 1 or 2 wares. So I rebooted, and since I was unable to remove them by the boot-up spyware scan, I decided to disconnect my computer from the LAN and scan it on safe mode.Although, I was able to get rid of the spywares that were installed on to my computer, my internet connection (via LAN) still cannot be re-established. The internet connection even to this day, tries to connect to the internet for the first 30 or so seconds, and then decides to flicker on the right bottom of my screen: "LAN connection disconnected", "connected", "disconnected", "connected".... alternating every 3 to 4 seconds. I tried fixing my Winsock, scanning my HDD for viruses, reverting my hard drive back to the last system restore point, and tried using connection wizard, but none of them worked.
I am still unsure whether it is a software or hardware problem.
Thanks
