im having a little problem with my internet connection speed since i upgraded to xp. i used to get over 50kbps when i was using Me, but have noticed that the best i get now is only 21kbps!!! i have tried everything like setting the max speed to its limit but to no avail. i have also noticed that it takes longer to connect and also has more problems connecting, like unable to establish a connection and invalid user name or password. can anyone help? its driving me nuts!!!

This is what I had to do to get a near perfect modem connection in xp.
First I had to try another slot, reseed, reinstall the modem.
Also, you have to connect the modem to the telephone outlet directly using no two way plugs etc. That is only way I got optimal usage out my modem.
Your password does get overwritten in xp, I think for security reasons. If you look it will have xtra characters added, just change to your password.
Good Luck

thanks for the support guys, but the problem is still there, could it be that my modem isn't entirely compatable with xp? i've heard a few rumours that when xp first came out people had to end up buying new modems too cos of this.
