Hello, I have two computer that are set up as follows:
computer one
WinXP Home SP1
Network conection via network card
Cable modem via USBcomputer two
Win98 SE
Network connection via network cardComputer two shares computer one's internet connection via internet conection sharing and both have been working fine until last week. The computer two could not send mail or browse the web. Computer one has been fine throughout.
I did the usual checks to make sure network cards hadn't gone pop and cable were good, and in the course of this found some interesting things:
-computer two can ping sites via name or IP
-computer two can tracert sites via name or IP
-computer two can connect via FTP or Telnet to any site
But when you try to browse the web IE does its name lookup, says 'website found waiting for reply', but thats it until it times out and trys to bring up the search window. As far as I'm aware, nothing has changed on either computer that should have affected things.
Any ideas anyone??? (Please!!!)
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
This should be posted in the network section!Anyway, have you manualy set-up your DNS? Try the following DNS settings:
158.153.1.43
158.153.1.58If you can ping websites but can't view them then usually your DNS has gone a bit pair shaped!
Berryzz
