Can anyone offer any help with my connection problem, I cannot connect with my desktop but when I plug the yellow lead into my laptop it works fine?? I suddenly lost the connection a week ago on desktop - aol say it must be a problem with the computor??? explorer settings have been reset router settings checked

Thanx for responses, in answer - the ipconfig settings are all ok (checked out with aol tech bods) as for motherboard jumper settings I am not sure how I obtain them but will look into that.
If it helps - the only web omms acheivable was the router page any other attempt gives error - webpage unavailable??
Laptop is is fine!

First thing. Verify your network connect is UP and connected.

Second thing. Ping an IP address like 4.2.2.1

Third thing. Ping a domain like yahoo.com

Fourth thing. Verify you have not got a firewall or security software interferring with your connection. Disable it for testing purposes.
