Hi,
Got three PC's, 2 XP, 1 Vista.. All wireless connected together. I've no problems connecting(browsing shared folders) between XP PC's, and no problem from Vista to either of the XP PC's.. but the problems is view folders shared on Vista from my XP PCs..
I keep get error message saying: "192.168.2.5 is not accessible. You might not have the permission to use this network resource. Contact the admini.....
Login failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer".192.168.2.5, is the local ip of the vista pc.
When I do search from XP, I find my Vista on the network. My Vista settings are describe on the attached image. The bottom image part shows for the folder sharings settings for the very folder I put as shared folder.
Does it something to do with different network layers? Or, how can I solve this issue? It's getting frustiating..
I got this respond earlier:
On the XP machine, make sure the restrictanonymous registry key is set to zero. Go to Start, type regedit and press Enter. In the left pane navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa . In the right pane, double-click restrictanonymous and make sure that the value in the Value data box is 0 (zero). Close regedit and reboot the computer. To be prudent create a system restore point before making any changes to the registry. But that was the setup prior to the repond..
In advance, thanks
Abdabs
