Ideally, this is the type of cable you should use to link two PCs together via USB ports. Any other type of USB cables will not work. Do not use it for everyday networking - use ethernet.

USB cables does not need drivers. It's all built-in into XP. Read the instruction that came with it.

<sighs>....I checked Radio Shack site for the User Guide. The Guide indicated you will need a CD for it to work. If you also threw out the CD, you're out of luck. There's nothing more I can do here.

It's not about drivers. It's about the software installation that you need in order to manipulate the USB ports of both computers for the cable to work.

Drivers and Software two different things.

XP will recognise the USB Networking Device and Install Drivers.

The CD contains the Networking Software one uses to undertake File Transfer

eddie795,

That's a nice fund (I know you googled for it whereas the OP could have done it on his own accord).

However the problem still stands - page 2 of the guide calls for manufacturer setup sfile that is available on the CD he threw out.

hi’

I found the driver over the internet. In DriverGuide.com. they are great!

Im trying to use a Briefcase as a sync tool but when opening a briefcase in the laptop and transferring the files from my desktop, the files status is orphan. It seems like I cant do it with this application. is there anything I can do? Or maybe I’ll use the sheared folder offline?
