Hi,

I have this problem of whenever i go to Start, Connect to and select my ISP. The time it takes to load up the connection box with your username and password is ages, around 2mins. I am using a dial up connection by the way.

Can anyone help please.

Try deleting the connection and creating it again.

Hi,

Done that no change, it appears to be thinking about something before it displays the screen (connection box)

2 minutes isn't bad for dial up... When I use dial up, it takes me about 1.5 minutes and I have a pretty high tech ISP.

What you could do is make sure your security setting in your dial up properties is set to TYPICAL and not ADVANCED.

You could also try getting your ISP's primary and secondary DNS (they look like this: ***.***.***.*** ) and manually placing them into the TCP section instead of having them automaticly assigned.

Sorry... I forgot to mention when you check your security settings... make sure your typical setting is: "Allow unsecured password"

Hi,

Would that stop the delay from when i click on the Start, Connect to - Blueyonder, To the actual connection screen appearing where your username and password are?

This takes around 2mins, so i can't click on the 'connect' until this screen appears like. Sorry if this sounds muddled.

The only thing that I can think of is that something else is loading along with your connection. Check your drive light when you bring up the connection and see if its flashing like crazy. Check your running processes and programs before and after you connect and compare them.

Also note the time you access your connection then go to your event log and see if it lists something.

If all of that fails then go to any download site ( I like to use www.download.com) and get a system logger program. Connect and disconnect a few times then examine the log to see exactly what is going on.

Has this problem done this ever since you got this machine, if so, did you build it or did a manufacture build it.

if u r using windows xp , go to u r dialup connection properties ,there u 'll find Server types option -> go in that option ->just deselect log on to network option if it is selected . if it works then its ok , if not then go to modem properties in control panel , then go to connection & deselect wait for dail tone option . it should help u to connect faster than earlier.
any more help ,email me
