Thanks Ewen,

Something tells me the mean-spirited conversation from the other thread I just pulled on this issue might continue here. If that happens, don't be surprised if I have remove this one as well :(

That's Ok Justin... I noticed what had happened there so I thought I would add a private congratulatory message.

Scrap it if needs be... I've had my say

Wow! I use Firefox plus Stylish to change alot of web sites with the exception of your site. I've always sort of liked that ole yeller look and just never changed it. When you made mention of changing your style my first thought was that I was going to re-style it for myself. I was wrong! This looks Great to me.

I like the new colour scheme. The site function has retained it's integrity and the small change to form is pleasant to the eye.

Not sure if I'm mean-spirited but I do have bad eyesight. I suppose it was inevitable that CN would be 'improved'. It was good while it lasted. Thanks, Justin.

Good job Justin. I thought I was on the wrong site at first when I clicked on my favorites because i was soo used to the yellow and gray you had on this site since the past 5+ years.

I find it more difficult to view. Might be my poor eyesight.

If anyone is homesick for the Yellow background, there is a small splash of it remaining on the "Forums" main page. I see two banners there with links to recent posts. One in the old format and a second with the new logo/colour.

Of course this may just be a housekeeping glitch.

Perhaps the yellow went 'cos of the use of Pepsodent... (for those "olde" enuff to recall a certain commercial in the UK in 50's...)

I think the new site is very good, not everyone likes change, but this change is very well done in my opinion, easier to navigate the site, easier to see if a thread has been replied to or not, i like the blue on white it makes the text stand out. Well done Justin, i really like what you've done here..

TRVLR: You really "dated" yourself there, but unfortunately, I too remember "You'll wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent". LOL

Justin,

No complaints from this end. The Blue was a little intense till I realized My contrast was nearly maxxed out.

The wider Text format is very welcome, should save some eye strain when reading lots of threads.

Too bad you pulled the mean spirited stuff. Nothing wrong with seeing people as they really are.

My main concern was loss of functionality because of a System that's almost as old and slow as myself, but actually, this new format runs faster than the old.

Also pleased to see that Tom's didn't over ride any of the features of CN, or interfere in any way, (yet)?

For my Buck, "Good job Justin!"

BTW, where's the Tom's content? Did I miss something.

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

mmm - Ahh the days of black/white tv (all 405 lines of it in the UK).

And some of the olde US commercials are a riot when viewed from today's perspective too; many being "live" at the time...

Now and then and commercial retrospectives/reruns bring those genteel commercials/days back into view...

Incidentally I like the site's "new" look overall; but stand by my comments re' type-face and density - against a pure white background...

I've been a forum member for years and was so accustomed to the "yellow" layout, but I think the new look here is absolutely fantabulous! :)

There was no malice or mean spiritedness on my part on the other thread, I just spoke my mind. But I wasn't joking when I said it would be a smart move to keep parts or incorporate the old colour scheme and preserve the original identity of the site.

But if decisions like that are out of your hands now, then so be it. It's a shame, but things move on. Old timers will take it or leave it.

Change the text box area back to yellow and I'd probably take it and get used to it.

...and green?

I do actually like the layout. Or, it's growing on me.

I see the links to Toms Guide, Toms Hardware, etc., at the top of the page. Pity those sites don't reciprocate, with a link to CN. Of course, they wouldn't, if their eventual plan was to integrate CN into the Toms Guide forums. Naturally, the first step would be to acclimatise the members to a similar color scheme.

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.
