What exactly is it you are trying to do? client-mode server is a bit of an oxymoron.

Windows XP can only operate as a peer in a Peer to Peer Network or as a client connected to a server in a file server network. Thats Windows XP Professional. Windows XP Home can only do Peer to Peer.

Windows XP cannot itself act as a server except as in a Peer to Peer network where every computer in the network is a server for all the others.
