hello,
i want to configure Thunderbird for my email account at yahoo. i entered the incoming server as pop.mail.yahoo.com
and outgoing server as smtp.mail.yahoo.net
Is it right?? Can someone please tell me the complete and exact procedure for configuring Thunderbird to receive yahoo mails.
first of all you cannot do it until you subscribe for yahoo premium service and for that you have to pay .........
but if you can register for yahoo's Singapore mail id which is free and can be used for outlook or thinderbird. In this case you user id would look like user@yahoo.com.sg
once you have that id then you can try outgoing server as smtp.mail.yahoo.com
one more thing you may have change the default port for either outgoing or incoming port (i dont remember exactly which port has to be changed....actually i did this long time ago for outlook but i havent tried it for thinderbird).......try to search on yahoo for configuration on outlook. I think it would be same for thinderbird.
hope this helps
please let me know if you were able to do it or not and how you did that.
