Ok I have had this computer for around 2 years now. Just recently I had no monitor when I got my monitor I plugged it in. My computer for some reason doesn't like monitors. I have to reboot a few times to get it to work. Anyway I turned off my computer to get it working and then disaster struck. My computer would not turn on. I replaced the power supply with a brand new one. Still no luck. I have removed my AGP graphics card,PCI Cards, Etc. Still no luck and tried different power sources wiggled cord. Nothing. I'm thinking about buying a new motherboard to fix the problem. Any idea's before I buy a new motherboard?

Why is this in the XP forum? It's a hardware problem!

Tend t agree re teh hardware forum for advice re' Mobo etc. but meanwhile whilst you're here...

Not unknown for a MoBo to fail; but I've personally not come across it...

Before going for a replacement board, perhaps ensure that "all" internal connections - regardless of type - are secure/pressed home/inserted properly.

Also look for and check any internal fuse(s) are OK... Had an AT board once that did appear to die - when a fuse (the actual mains-in cct.) blew; replaced it and it didn't fail again. Can't remember if they exist on current atx boards or not...?

Are you also sure the on/off switch is working properly; i.e. it does what it's supposed to - switch on/off? You can test this with simple neon-tester - either side of the switch, or decent/basic multi-meter?
