My compter won't stay in standby mode. It starts back up again after about 5 seconds. I read an answer to this problem on another forum. They said to go into the device manager and right click "your nic" then go to properties and disable the "wake on LAN". I don't know what this "nic" thing is supposed to be - I can't find anything close to it under device manager. Thanks. In case you can't tell, I really don't know much about my computer, except how to use it - not FIX it. Thanks again!

You may try to disable the "wake on LAN" in BIOS.
