Hmm..this might be a dumb question but my computer won't start unless I remove both the keyboard and mouse plugs. I have to remove both of them first, then the power finally works on the rest of the system. After that, I have to plug them in again once Windows boots. I'm thinking something came loose but I checked all the connectors that are hooked to the hard drives and motherboard.
For Further details, when both mouse and keyboard are plugged in, it seems like the computer is trying to start up and makes a clicking sound. The fans move but very slightly. If anyone can help me out, I'd be very grateful. Thanks in advance.

When I got my previous machine, I had a similar problem, except that I could not use the mouse or keyboard in windows at all. It turned out that I had a fried/dead motherboard. The wierd thing was, It started doing it immediatly after it was set up from removal of the box. I just took it back to the store, and complained about the faulty product and I exchanged it for another unit. You may have the same problem, except on a less severe scale. I would make sure that your motherboard is not damaged in any way, and if it appears to be failing, replace it. (unless your computer is brand new of course, then njust exchange it). To me, it sounds as though you have a failing motherboard.

Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it. I don't know if it's a Motherboard probably exactly because it worked normally right before I put in my new video card. And if it was a faulty motherboard, wouldn't it not start at all? I can still turn it on if the mouse and keyboard are not inserted.

I had similar problems before on two different occasions, and there problems were:
1) bent pins on the keyboard or mouse connector
2) mouse and keyboard plugged into each other's ports.
Might be something to check, especially for bent/broken/missing pins.

LOL.. you played with your chip...
Does the fan move slightly but not turn over? This means thatyour chip is in the wrong way.. make sure the corner which is cut is up towards the cut corner of your socket.. I had this problem when i was young and stupid... thought it was a power supply prob but it is to do with your mobo.. check the power connecters to the mobo.. that the chip is in the right way... and that your bios is inserted properly
tell me how you go
