Comment: I am running Windows XP and recently had my homepage hijacked so followed advice given to me where i adjusted settings in the "REGEDIT" page ever since I cant shut down my PC and cant find out what I did!! System restore doesnt help cos I didnt have it turned on !!! ......Anyone help?

Reply: Download AdAware (free) from www.lavasoftusa.com, and remove any and all adware that is found on your computer. There are several things that could be causing your computer to not shut down. Try eliminating all the simple causes first, by running AdAware and maybe Spybot as well. Also, have you run a virus scan. Once all this is eliminated as a possible cause, a simple search through the computing.net forums should yield helpful results. Good luck! -Tommy B
