I am using a HP Pavilion A1010n desktop with the P4GV-LA motherboard. After a thunderstorm the other day, the computer wont boot up, the fans wont spin on either the MO or the power supply. I did all the troubleshooting that hp had suggested for the PS and that seems to ok, my only thought at this point is the motherboard, nothing lights up, no fans spinning, any ideas?.
thanks

Could you enlighten us as to what procedure proved that the power supply was ok? That would really be useful.

After years of dealing with failed systems especially after power failures/thunderstorms I see that the most common failure is the power supply. Surge protectors will not stop surge/spikes when lightning hits somewhere on the power grid near you. Unless you have a good tester with the ability to provide load and indicate voltage levels you might not have a stable supply. Replacements are fairly cheap and a quick replacement most likely will get you back up and running.
