Computer wont lemme access usb flas

Hey, i just bought this new USB 2.0 Microdrive thing (256mb's) and when i put it in it came up witht he usual that xp found new hardware flash usb disk etc etc, but when in my computer i try to open it, it just says "Please Insert Disk into Disk Into Drive G:" and thats it. PLZ HELP

emcee, SWAG, sounds to me like your machine is searching for a driver to use, that's why it wants the disk. Perhaps if you put the driver on your HDD? HTH. Ed in Texas.

but see havent got a driver, the packaging and booklet said windows xp should do automatically. They only supply the driver for win 98....can i use that win98 or will it stuff my xp

Sounds like you need to format the usb flashdrive. Right-click on the drive and then click "format". Then follow onscreen prompts.

cant format. When you try it comes up with There is no Disk in Drive G. Insert a disk then try again.
I have found out it is a volsnap.sys driver user.

I am a Computer engineer and i have several clients having this problem.
I have no come to realise that it is something wrong with the software or motherboard as I test several know working USB drives and get the same problem.
