computer wont' change to 2003

the date will not go to 2003 everything else it will
just not 2003 i have tried to changed it in the bios
and as soon as i change it goes back to 2001

How old is the computer? Could be the mobo, chip whatever, wasn't programmed that far. I don't know tho, my cheap old Casio work watch was good for fifty years. Something to check out, anyway.

If the day and month also revert to different values, it could be the battery on the mobo is done.
