computer wont' change to 2003

the date will not go to 2003 everything else it will just not 2003 i have tried to changed it in the bios and as soon as i change it goes back to 2001

How old is the computer? Could be the mobo, chip whatever, wasn't programmed that far. I don't know tho, my cheap old Casio work watch was good for fifty years. Something to check out, anyway.
