computer wont boot

I have a computer that wont boot from hard drive or cd or in bios. It gives an error message of hard disc failure imminent. Any ideas

Evidently the BIOS has detected a failing / failed HD.

TRy disconnecting the HD cable.

not nessesarily. to find out for sure enter the BIOS and check the boot order
