Hi, I am running an Acer TravelMate 4060WLMi that i have had since 2006. Currently running XP. All of a sudden the screen freezes at the "Knight Rider" screen. I tried safe mode with command prompt and it freezes at

I need this laptop for work. I was wondering if you could help me.

Try updating the BIOS if there is a newer version avalable. If not, are you running XP SP 2? There are other people with that same problem running SP 2. Also, the problem also seems to be happening to systems with the master hard disk formated as FAT 32. If you can, try to find a program to convert the hard drive to NTFS if it is formated using FAT 32. If you own a copy of partition magic, you can use that. You just have to create the Partition Magic Rescue disketes and boot to them. Once inside Partition Magic, you can use the tools included to convert the hard drive. If you don't own a copy of Partition Magic, Do Not Go And Buy A Copy! There are many free alternatives on the internet. Try searching on for a program. You will have to search using terms like "Hard drive partitioning" or "Hard drive formating". All of the programs here are Free.
