The other day I installed linux on my usb at a friends house and it worked perfectly. When I got home I tried to boot linux from my usb on my computer and my computer wouldnt boot it so in "Run" I typed:

"diskpart" which caused diskpart command promt to come up. Then in diskpart command promt I typed:

list disk
select disk
list partition
select partition
active
exit

I think I listed the wrong Disk and activated the wrong partition because now my computer wont boot at all. It Gets past the IBM screen and just turns black. doesnt even go to the "Windows XP" screen.

Any help?

Better to look twice when playing around with partition tools!

You need a boot disk, bootable USB-Stick or bootable CD and have to use fdisk, to activate the correct partition.

If you haven't such disks or USB-Stick, you can also use a Linux Live CD for that.

Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!
