Specs: Windows xp
I recently had a power outage in my neighborhood and I am having trouble booting my computer. The power surge protector seems fine. I press power and it beeps once followed by a black screen with grey lettering. At the top of the screen it says:
check system health OK
Memory testing : 229376k + 32M shared memory

Then at the bottom of the screen it says:
Press del to enter setup, ESC to skip memory test.

I try pressing delete and esc but nothing happens.I am not a computer wizz by any means but I hope this is enough info. Thanks for your help.

Assuming this is a desktop, and that you are pressing those keys at the appropriate time, test your current keyboard in another desktop, or test another keyboard in this one. You have to eliminate the possibility of a faulty keyboard, or the connection as an early first step.
