Why does my computer suddenly restarts itself while using a program or clicking on its icon? Just out of the blue it will restart the whole system. Is there anyone out there the can help me with this problem please.

If you are using a Toshiba, you need to go to the help site and search for simultaneous shutdown. It needs to update the bios and then everything will be fine.

Right click My Computer, Properties, Advanced tab, Settings button (Starup and Recovery), uncheck Automatically Restart.
Now you should get a message when it happens again.

Hi DON'T update BIOS. It will not solve your problem. Alot of people have same problem. I had it too and i ended up reinstalling windows. Did you upgrade to XP from ME, if so simply format your harddrive and install windows. Did you change any setting in BIOS?
