1)Make sure the computer is off
2)unplug the power cord
3)next to the battery you should see a small jumper which is the CMOS jumper, put it in the 'clear'position then return to where it was before.
there are three pins on the cmos
only two will have the jumper on it at any time, on my pc the top bottom two will clear the CMOS, then i return the jumper back to the top two and leave it there.
Make sure you dont switch the computer on with the cmoz jumper in the 'clear' position.
