A few days ago my computer, sound scheme, music started to lag after about 45 minutes to an hour. My sound scheme for my original windows xp theme stops working meaning I cant hear anything when I minimize, maxmize, right click etc.. When I try playing music it lags really really bad. Like I can actually hear the artist from the song repeat a word up to 7 times. Also my computer slows down so much I can see the mouse curser lag. My computer is pretty good also I got
128 mb sdram,
60.0GB
1GHZ Amd athlon processor with cd burner rw and dvd.
Iv try defragging my hard drive it toke all night probably I wasnt watching a big spider scared me away lol. Then I ran a complete system virus scan using Norton and I tried a disk cleanup. I also tried lower my resources in msconfig, I disable alot of startup items, I dont know what more to do. When I restart everything is fine for another 40 - 60 minutes. I uninstalled most of my games and only have cs and midnight club II left. I have a Hewlett Packard I ask them for support threw email but I keep getting almost the same answers about Configuring my mscofig defragging and so on. I have no clue what to do know PLZ SOMEONE Help Thank You.

128 megs of RAM is not enough for XP. And Kaaza is a resource hog.

If the svchost is pegging that is why you are getting your slow down. Go to your command prompt, and type tasklist /svc. This will show you what is running and the svchost. Go to task manager and stop the service host that is pegging 100 and see what happens. I had this problem and it ended up being real player pegging. I took it out of startup and all is fine. Also since you only have 128 megs, upgrade to at least 256. Also, increase your virtual memory. If you need help increasing--go to help and support and do a search on virtual memory. Hope this helps a bit.
