Computer shuts anything that i try to open

Have two problems

1. Notebook shuts anything i try to open i.e. pictures, word files, folders, and Internet explorer etc.

2. When I try turnoff the Notebook, it gives me this “something is running” warning. Also give me an option to continue or end the program. Having said that, doing both the options it doesn’t shut off. So I have to go and do it again or do it unsafe manually.

Have you tried using the task manager to see what applications/processes are running. You use Ctrl/Alt/Delete to enter it.
