If your monitor has a bluish tint. The most common cause for this is a broken wire in the video card connector. The #1 pin (top one) is the red connector. If it's broken you get a bluish screen. Try wiggling the cable near the connector.

If that's not it, it's probably the red gun in the monitor. Which means a new monitor is needed.

Well All Wires are Fine!!! But when i bring up the Monitor Menu with the buttons on the Monitor Red is shown throuout the menu! It seems that the only red not showing up is the Red coming from the computer!!!! Is that something different then? Also all pins are 100% perfect and wiggled all cords!!!

Best first step is to either try your monitor on another machine or someone elses on yours.

Could be video card or other things but take the monitor itself out of the equation first.

How are you able to determine that? You cannot see the wires inside the connector.

Do as Derek suggested and try another monitor. No matter what the problem is, you are probably going to have to buy a new monitor. They are too expensive to repair.

I am currenty using a other monitor on my machine and this monitor works fine! SO I can rule out the machine! So it has to be the monitor! So i'm guessing that since the old monitor only shows Red while im in the monitors menu it must be an interior wire in which can be fixed right? Also if you think I need a new monitor whats a good place for a named brand cheap one??? Or is it cheaper to get this small wire fixed?

I used to do TV repairs (which is pretty close to monitors). It could be just a faulty connection inside or it could be all manner of different things, although it won't help if I spell them out.

Don't get too bogged down with this being some broken wire that you can fix. Unless you are qualified to repair this type of kit then the only course of action is replacement.

Just make sure that the plug pins look OK because someone might be able to fix that for you.

A 'possible' easy fix. Take hold of the cable right next to the connector. Watch the screen and lift the cable up. It might make the connection. You might be able to wrap it up with tape to make it work.

You could also talk to an electronics repair shop (not a computer repair shop). Explain what you think the problem is and see what they will charge.

Derek, I have seen this problem time and time again. It's caused by people who move their monitor around a lot which flexes the cable. It's almost always the red pin #1 wire.

A tip for people who move their monitor around a lot. Purchase a monitor extension cable. If you encounter this problem, you can just replace the extension cable, instead of the monitor.

Yep, makes sense (hence my hasty last line in #6 'cos it would be a real shame to write off the monitor for something like that).

I wouldn't mind a dollar for every time a bit of cable/plug wiggling has paid off.

Download and run the Monitor Benchmark test at
THIS SITEto check out color, convergence, etc. if you really want to know what is wrong with your monitor.

Useful website gilloz - thx. In this instance however we know the monitor (or its plug/cable) is defective.
