I would be very grateful if you could answer at least my main question below!
I have a computer with the following system configuration:
Miditower Chieftec DX01B
MSI MS-K7T266 ProR (Motherboard)
AMD Athlon XP 1900+
512 MB RAM (Two 256 Mb DDRAM Orginal)
CPU Fan Alpha + zalman
IBM 60 Gb DS60GXP 7200 rpm
Windows XP Professional
MSI-MS StarForce GeForce3 Ti 500 Series (Nvidia GeForce3 Ti 500)
Soundblaster Audigy platinum eX
Plextor 24x10x40x Retail
Sony CPD-G420 19” (Monitor)
ACPI Uniprocessor PC
Modem 56K V.90 int. PCI
Network card 100 Mb PCI
Keyboard MS Natural Pro
Logitech Dual Optical (Mouse)
MS Office XP Pro
HP PSC 950
Floppy 3.5”
DVD Pioneer Slot-in 16xI have had the computer for about 1 year and 4 months.
For about 1 month ago my computer restarted itself suddenly. I was surfing, before the computer restarted, on a webpage that I have been at many times before. I think that the computer restarted again when it was restarting again. Then it stood if one would want to start Windows from an earlier functioning point or something like that. But before I chose one of the options the computer restarted again. The same thing stood again. This time I managed to choose the option: start Windows from an earlier functioning point, before the computer restarted. It was the alternative that stood at the bottom of the screen. I think that there were three alternatives above. At least one alternative was if one wanted to start the computer in Unsafe mode. On Sunday 4th May 2003 the computer restarted again. Before the computer restarted it closed the RealPlayer (I think it stood Taskbar). Then Creative Taskbar closed, that I have at the top of the screen. The computer restarted again when it started up again. Then when the computer started up again it came to a blue screen, where it stood something like: one should shut down the computer if it was the first time one saw this message. If it wasn’t the first time one should do something that I don’t remember exactly but it was something about BIOS. I then shut down the computer because I hadn’t seen the message before. When I started up the computer again it stood again: start Windows from an earlier functioning point, which I also chose.
Before this happened I had updated Windows Media Player from version 8 to 9. Also one or two days before the computer restarted I had saved a word-file, but I checked if the word-file contained any viruses, before I opened it, on http://www.pcm.se/int/. It showed that it didn’t contain any viruses. I changed the document the same day that I opened it and saved it as another word-file. I have checked the whole computer for viruses on http://www.pcm.se/int/ and on http://housecall.trendmicro.com. No viruses were detected.
I think that my computer never have restarted like that before except when I have played Grand Prix 4, Delta Force: Black Hawk Down and a demo of Indiana Jones And The Emperor’s Tomb. I installed the official patch to Grand Prix 4 but it still made my computer restart. The same thing happened with Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. In the demo of Indiana Jones And The Emperor’s Tomb the faces of the people are green sometimes. When I played Grand Prix 4 one often came back to the desktop, before the computer restarted if one played Grand Prix 4 again.
Do you know what is wrong mainly, when it comes to, why the computer restarts? If you know what is wrong concerning the games, please give me suggestions on how to solve the problems.
If you suggest drivers, write the exact name of the drivers and exactly how to get the driver!

Your epic has me confused. What you see clearly in your mind probably confuses others too. Can you possibly describe your problem in fewer works. Y'know - to the point. Tersely. Concisely.

First thing to try, download a bios update from the manufacturer of your motherboard. Second, replace the memory with some from a computer that works well. If it still reboots, try swapping out the power supply. Finally, replace motherboard. Try those steps and see if it fixes anything.

I got one suggestion that I tried. It said that I should go into BIOS and choose DISABLE: BIOS Cacheble (I think it stood that), but it didn’t work. If it didn’t work I should choose BIOS Defaults (and SAVE & Exit). That made the computer start up again shouting and it stoood CPU Fan isn’t working. Shut Down Computer Y/N. I chose Y, but later I tested to start the computer again (it stood the same thing) and chose N. I saw both times that it stood 1200 MHz instead of 1600 MHz. I also saw the both times that the Zalman Fan in the computer wasn’t spinning. It seems like the computer doesn’t restart every now and then like before, but I still would like to have 1600 MHz instead of 1200 MHz. What am I supposed to do to get the 1600 MHz and that the computer doesn’t restart every now and then? Is there something I should change in the BIOS so that I get 1600 MHz and that my Zalman Fan starts to spin again and is there maybe something else that changed in the BIOS when I chose BIOS Defaults or can one just choose an earlier date in the System Restore in Windows XP?

I have kind of the same problem, and I even tried changing the Power Supply, bought a new harddisk, ram and a new grafic card, tried unplugging all devices,cd-rom,burner,disk drive and nerwork card to see if they caused the problem.!
I also updated the BIOS.
Still having the same problem, everytime I try playing a game, it restarts before it gets to the "real game", or after about 5 min´s of gaming.!
I checked the log, nothing unusual, except some failures about my \Device\CdRom1 had some misplaced blocks.!
And a bunch of warning that says that the computer couldnt get a new adress from the DHCP-server.!
Im going nuts.!
