Computer restarts at startup

Hi, I have this problem, my computer restarts itself at startup for servel times untill it finally loads. any ideas?

Well, its obviously running into some sort of problem during boot. Where, exactly does it restart? Halfway thru windows? Just after POST?

Did this happen after you installed new software or hardware?
If you have access to another system, install your drive in it and check for viruses.

I can log on after few restarts, I did a virus check and it came out clean.

Have you checked the CPU/Motherboard temperature and if the fans are working fine. Some of the motherboards have a feature to restart the system, if the system temperature goes beyond a certain limit. Although you can disable that feature, but it is to protect your cpu and motherboard, it is highly not recommended to turn off that feature.
