alright i really need some advice guys. i turned on my computer yesterday and it booted up then when it came to the windows xp log on screen it rebooted. it continued to do that, and when i turned automatic restart off. i looked at the logs and stuff to find out the problem. so i formatted and did a fresh install of winxp. after the installation i continually got a blue screen that said 'page_fault_in_nonpaged_area'...the other error i got was "irq not less or equal". now im running an k7vmm mobo with amd xp 2000+ and heres the ram. 1 512mb infineon pc2100 and 1 512mb elixer 2.5cl pc2100 (266mhz). so i take one ram chip out, and it works perfectly fine. but the other ram chip was fine when i tested it in another computer.

i played around in the bios and set it to load optimal default and i also changed the frequency of the ram to 200mhz, and it was at 266mhz. so with 1gb ddr running at 200mhz it booted fine no errors nothing. i put it back up to 266mhz frequency and got the blue screen right when i entered windows again. i think there is some kind of irq conflict? i tried disabling everything. i know my ram is fine its all brand new, its just the configuration thats a pain in the ass

if someone could please walk me thru on what to do please lemme know. i paid a lot of money for these and would want them to run full speed at the 266mhz that theyre suppose to. then again if i kept it underclocked both to the 200mhz would it be a big deal? i appreciate this, thanks.

Dear friend,

You are facing the problem of faulty RAM modules replace them, they will run at 200Mhz so select 100Mhz as your FSB in BIOS
in sysnchronous mode and a ratio of System/DDR SDRAM freq ratio to 133/100.
if it runs properly then RAM are damaged for sure.
