When I got my laptop the set up process for windows asked me to give the computer a name so I gave it STITCH. So it created my comp admin profile under the name STITCH\Inmar. I changed the computer name to SCOUT a few days ago and ever since then my scheduled task for Norton Anti-Virus scan wont run. I traced the problem to my user profile still being STITCH\Inmar. The task needs to be run logged under an account and my user profile should be SCOUT\Inmar, because the computers name is SCOUT. I cant figure out how to edit my user profile to be under computer name SCOUT\Inmar. Can this be done or do I need to set up a whole new user profile and delete the old one with the STITCH name?

give your new profile admin rights and delete the 'stitch' profile and everything should be alright. Just remeber tha for you to use programs from one user profile to another then it must be set up to share with each other or you will not ne able to access them from the various profiles that you have used

lurkswithin: I haven't set up a new profile. I am still running my user profile 'Inmar' all I did was change the computer name from STITCH to SCOUT, but my user profile still says the computer domain is STITCH not SCOUT. So I'm guessing I will have to setup a new profile with the domain of SCOUT, give it admin rights, and delete this old profile with the domain of STITCH.
ugly18yrold: I have run Norton many times since changing my computer name. I looked in my msconfig but didnt see anything related to the computer name or my user profile.
