computer monitor quit working

Specs: Windows 03.12.2009
I tried to install a new cd drive. Hooked it up to my computer, but the computer would not read it. Then my monitor quit working. Did I fry something or what. Help, need to know what to do now. Took the cd drive out, monitor still does not work. What could I have fried.

Is it an IDE drive or SATA? If it's IDE, does it share the cable with another drive? Did you set the master/slave jumpers as needed? Did you have the power cord unplugged when you were messing around inside the case? Are you sure you didn't knock anything loose?

Its and IDE. I had everything unplugged, but when I restarted the computer with the new drive connected the monitor did not run. It was the master. I believe I burned something out. I disconnected everything and took the drive out and the monitor still does not work. I connected it to another computer and it worked.
I will have to take it in. Believe something got burned.
