OK, I just upgraded to a P4 2.8 GHZ and now my system just locks up randomly, but motsly when I'm playing a game. Here are my specs:
Soyo Dragon Lite SY-P4X400
Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHZ
512 MB DDR RAM
Antec TruePower 430 Watt Power Supply
Western Digital 7200 RPM 175 GB Hard Drive
Nvidia Geforce4 MX 420The only things I upgraded are the motherboard, hard drive, and processor. Since I just installed WinXP Pro, I don't think it's OS related. My system temp is 44 degrees celsius, so I don't think that's the problem either. Anybody know what's wrong? Also, Some programs that worked before (NBA Live 2003, Zonealarm, Neverwinter Nights) I upgraded now either quit with an error message or just lock-up. BTW, this is the error message:
X program has encountered a problem. X program needs to be closed. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Or something like that. The standard Windows error. I've tried upgrading the BIOS and I ran memstat, but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated.

Your problem could be a bad driver. XP is very fussy about the drivers it uses. You may want to check things like event viewer to see if you can pinpoint the problem.
Good luck.
