When i turn my computer on it shows the windows XP screen loading, then goes to a black screen saying we are sorry for this inconvience blah blah blah and it gives me choices of starting the computer in safe maode, safe mode with command, safe mode with networking, last known good config, or start windows normally...i have tried all of these and they all go to a disk check, they all say there are no problems on the disk and then immediately restarts and i get the same thing over and over...can anyone help me or explain the problem so i can fix it? i cant do anything on my computer...HELP!!!

Hmmm, this is a very serious problem with your operating system. I think you should reinstall Windows from scratch after formatting your time. Backup your HD once you are done with installing everything.

"I think you should reinstall Windows from scratch after formatting"
Most of those who are quick to pull the trigger on the format gun do so because they don't know how to troubleshoot.
Boot off the XP CD, press R to enter the Recovery Console, type FIXBOOT & press enter. If that doesn't fix it, try CHKDSK /R

I would check for potential hardware issues first: Check the cpu temperature in the BIOS, and check the RAM with memtest. If it looks like a software issue, instead of reinstalling Windows, you can run a repair install. That leaves your data and programs intact, but requires reinstallation of the updates.

"reinstall Windows from scratch after formatting your time." Not sure what she means by formatting your time. "Backup your HD once you are done with installing everything." IF you decide to go the reinstall route, backup your data BEFORE you reinstall.

I had this happen to me at different times on two desktops that I assembled from salvaged parts. In both instances it turned out to be faulty Video cards. I have it from others that have had faulty PCI cards causing the rolling restarts.
I strip the machine of all but the Video card, and Ram. Start and if stable shut down and add the hard drive. Test again if stable, shut down, add an item and repeat the process untill you get the condition you
posted. that Item will be the problem child.
