Shut the computer down friday as usual, today turned it on as normal and it wont powerup/boot. Before this is was running stable. The motherboard's standby LED is on. Theres power to the hard disk, CD rom, floppy, processor but still nothing happens. Theres no start up beep. Ive tried un progguing the cd rom/floppy drive, resetting the BIOS but still nothing. Anyone lend me a hand? cheers

You can get into your bios?
I'm a little confused as to how you don't get a start up beep but can get into the bios. My thought is you have a bad power supply, but if you can get into the bios it sounds more like your OS is corrupt.

What I mean is I wiped the bios by taking the bios battery oput of the motherboard. When I turn the computer on tnothing happens. The screen is blank. I can hear the drives working but thats about it.

For reference, that is a cmos battery.
Even though you are getting power to the cd rom, HD, etc, I would still initially check the PS as there are different voltage power rails. Some might work (like the 12 Volt rail) and other might not (like the 5V rail). You should be able to take the PS to a computer shop and have it tested.

BTW I'm assuming you pulled all cards out except video card too. Backing up a little here. Remove everything except video card, ram, and cpu. See if you get a post. If you do, start adding stuff back by process of elimination. If it doesn't, start with the PS as I suggested

Check the cpu fan.

Please post back within 24 hours or I will delete the post from my follow up list. Thanks. It would be a courtesy if you would post back and let us know if the fix worked or not.
