Computer freezes @ OS select menu.

I have a problem. When I start my computer up it just freezes at the OS boot menu. I tried everything from Safe Mode to debug Mode, even Last known config doesn't work. System Recovery Console just freezes @ hardware check. I think it might be a virus or malicious software but I have no way of finding out till my computer is working again...Please Help!

I would test the hard drive for problems. Ensure your cabling is properly hooked up, switch different ports (sata or IDE).

hard drive is hooked up fine. I haven't changed any settings, havent changed out any hardware or anything like that. I just turned it on one morning and it didn't work. Freezes @ OS select menu. not a RAM problem either. Worked absolutley fine prior to all this. Plus, I can't test my hard drive cuz I can't get past the OS select menu. I can get into BIOS, but thats it. and there's nothing I can do in there that will help me. Also tried the OEM recovery disc, that too freezes
