My computer freezes about every 3 minutes for 5-10 seconds. It suddenly started doing this yesterday, though for no apparent reason. No matter what I am doing, it will still freeze for that duration, i.e. scrolling on the internet, typing, listening to music, watching a DVD (pauses the DVD for a few seconds, then stutters for a few more while it picks back up). It's maddenly annoying, given how often I am on.
I do have a Trojan Downloader virus on my computer, the infected file being C:\WINDOWS\system32\winjyp32.dll, though I've no I idea if this is even the source of the problem (I cannot delete it, even with updated Norton definitions, and while in Safe mode).
Could this be a result of this virus, or could I be having hardware troubles of some sort?

The short answer is yes the Trojan could be causing this. I would advise you get rid of it as soon as possible....you have no idea what it is capable of doing to your computer and personal information.
