Hi.... I wish to make my computer faster... I got windows XP SP 2, with 2048 MB RAM.
I run Piriform Defraggler, Disk Defragmenter ( by Microsoft), CCleaner, NTREGOPT, I also use CCleaner registry problem solver. Is there any more Free softwares I can use to make my computer run better? Any more Free defragment softwares?
Thank you, Daniel

Try installing SP3. It helped my machine.
You may also want to try these:

SpeedItup Free
WinContigSoftware gives me a headache.

How about listing the rest of your system specs? All we know is you have 2GB RAM.
Adding more programs *may* make your system even slower, you should consider running leaner. Which anti-virus program do you have? Norton & McAfee are bloated hogs...if you have either of them, you should consider dumping them & replacing with one of the freebies such as AVG.

How much crap do you have loading at startup & running in the background? Disable all but the essentials.

Do you have any tool bars installed such as Yahoo or Google? Get rid of them, they're spyware. Do you have RealPlayer or QuickTime installed? Dump them & replace with the alternative versions.

As jam said above, sometimes less is definitely more in
terms of computer speed. Each program you have running is
another that'll be draining your system resources and taking
up valuable processing time.Have you been through MSCONFIG and disabled programs
that you don't need to be running? This will make booting
Windows a lot quicker, and it will also minimize the
resources allocated to programs that you won't be running.

Hey jam. Awesome links, buddy! Especially TweakXP and Filehippo.
Thank you.
A positive attitude won't solve all your problems, but it will annoy just enough people to be worth the effort.

I am going for a week vacation, but. , first,
My mistake - I have SP 3.
I got Norton Anti virus.... I really want to replace it =)
for tool bar, I use FireFox (Go foxy), So I use some firefox addons, I use one tool bar, since I am a developer, It called "SeoQuake" and it gives me information about website. It communicate with google as well.
I got indexing service enabled, shouldn't it make search quicker?
I got QuickTime since I got iPod Nano and I have to use QuickTime to upload songs to it....

No, it slows the system down. You *should* see a noticeable difference if you disable it.

Does it load at startup? If so, does it need to? It's better to start it manually when needed than to have it load when not needed & hog system resources. Same thing goes for messaging programs (AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, etc), camera & printer software, Adobe, etc.. The more stuff you have loading at startup, the longer the boot time & the slower your system.
As an experiment, press Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up Task Manager. At the bottom left corner of the window, how many Processes do you have running? Leave the window open & click on the column heading "User Name" to rearrange the column list. Count up how many processes are listed after your username (MasterT?). You *should* be able to identify most of them.
To lighten the load, you can run MSCONFIG or you can disable the startup programs thru CCleaner > Tools > Startup.
I'm at work right now so my system has a lot of garbage running...usually 66 processes 1st thing in the morning. I can get it down to about 40 using Task Manager / End Process. My PC's at home run pretty lean...between 30-35 processes running at bootup.
