I have been gettting lots of crashes ... also ... Blue screens ... Here are some of the Errors : Nv4_Disp.Dll ..... Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal .... And Win32K_Sys ... I am not to sure what to do here ... I only know afew things about computers ... I have been told to reformat .... And that will take all my errors away... Just wondering what some other people think

Thanks Kim

Hello.

Go to Start->Run

Type CHKDSK

and press Enter. Then

Type SFC /SCANNOW (there is a blank space between SFC and Slash).

and press Enter.

This will check the integrity of system files.

Have your XP CD-ROM ready.

Hope the above helps.

Regards

suatcini

Screw SFC, if you have alot of hotfixes installed, it may screw up your system.

You have a lot of stuff in your box. What is the rating on your power supply??

Rule #1: Good Computers don't go down.
Rule #2: There is no such thing as a good computer.

Kim,
lets try another approach- when did the errors start occuring? for example, was the pc working fine prior to updating video card drivers, or installing a new software or hardware, etc...
as for power supply, can always open the pc case and check the specs on the ps label.

i'm having the same problem.. win xp home edition, sp1 (or sp2, problem happens with either installed)
amd athlon xp 2700
asus a7v600 x mainboard
asus nvidia geforce mx4000 video card
512megs of ram
160gig sata drive
480 watt power supply

brand new system, just put installed windows, whenever i go to open a program or do just about anything (sometimes just internet explorer) the system freezes and i get a blue screen with an error that says
nv4_disp error
i got the latest drivers from nvidia, that didn't change anything...

what do i do??
