Might be helpful to go into the Control Panel under Administrative Tools, Event Viewer. Look for something under Application and/or Security. Find the time that it's rebooting and post the errors here for someone to take a look at.

windows xp has a memory dump. You need to see what is causing it. Check the admin tools...

Ken - start with the Event Viewer. Question though, does it reboot by itself sporadically? If so, try opening up the computer case and check all fans (Case fan, power supply fan, CPU fan, etc.). It just might be that a fan has stopped working and is causing the CPU to overheat and reboot the computer. If all the fans are working and the PC still reboots by itself, update your virus definitions and run a virus scan. It may be a virus.

Brian, I don't think what you've said is the problem, but I did check though. TJ, I've check the Event Viewer and most the errors i found are related to TrueVector Service. What is TrueVector Service may i ask? ok here is the error msg "TrueVector engine: File "C:\WINNT\Internet Logs\E-BT.ldb" was corrupt and has been copied to "C:\WINNT\Internet Logs\xDB38.tmp". File "C:\WINNT\Internet Logs\E-BT.ldb" was corrupt and has been deleted." Also there are more than one corrupted files. Thank You

Are you running ZoneAlarm? All I can find searching Google has to do with Zone Alarm...but I don't believe that is the source of your crash.

Have you changed anything recently? According to other forums I've searched suggest updating the video card drivers.

Hope this helps

Now I'm pretty sure that the TrueVector Service thing is the source of my problem, I tried to uninstall zonealarm uncessfully and the program is linked to the TrueVector Service. Now all I need to know is what TrueVector Service is. Can somebody mind telling me what it is? Thanks in advance

True Vector Service is a service run by zone alarm that monitors zone alarm for suspicious activity, it also makes it quite hard (not impossible, but extra hard) to uninstall zone alarm fully without a password. the service also monitors programs trying to access the internet and it monitors all the incoming and outgoing traffic on your computer.

if you havnt uninstalled zone alarm properly then true vector wont uninstall and there is the start of a major disaster. true vector really runs zone alarm, and zone alarm is just the gui (front end, pretty icons and pictures) of the service. you need to go onto the zone alarm site to see how to uninstall true vector properly. i cant explain how to do it because that would take forever, the easiest way to do it is reinstall ZA and then uninstall properly, or reinstall windows.

good luck. it took me forever to remove it from a clients machine.
