my computer beeps at times when my cpu is too busy and is running low on virtual memory. i think it's just a caution sound. go to run and type msconfig.exe and hit enter. on the general tab click the selective startup, then on the startup tab. disable all the programs you don't need then restart your computer. beeps shouldn't be nothing to worry about, in most cases a balloon will pop up to alert you.
